Goon Squad

Seems that Mr. Costello / MacManus and I share some sentiments. As with the last posting there is a subtext here that will remain private, but the song title rings so true I could not resist. The Attractions have to be one of the tightest, most dexterous bands ever, and this live performance of I Don't Want To Go To Chelsea gives a glimpse at the mighty power they wielded in their heyday.

Hi Mr P. Just picked up Live at Hollywood High, a reissue of the full concert that was culled into an Armed Forces EP years back. It is 100% Proof Costello with The Attractions at their most potent peak!

Another sizzling performance! Thanks for digging this up. I'm sorry to hear that you're still in a place where Angry Elvis is your medicine of choice, but I can't think of a better doctor. I've often wondered how the swinging Londoners he was writing about -- the trendy This Year's Models -- felt when they realized he was singing about them. But what am I saying? They probably never even noticed.

At this point the Angry Elvis pretty much echos my persona. Time heals, Elvis eventually moved on, and I will too. I promise the next post will be happy music :)
