Not much to say - it is a sad day around Pleasant Valley Sunday. I am not going to write about it here. But Elvis Costello pretty much hits the nail on the head with High Fidelity. Great to see the rarely broadcast promo video.
Even though you're nowhere near me
And I know you kiss him so sincerely now
Even though the signal's indistinct
And you worry what silly people think
Who just can't wait to feel frozen out
I bet he thinks that he was chosen out of millions
I suppose he will never know about... High Fidelity

Ah, I'm real sorry about that Mr. Pleasant. Please hang tough.
And yeah, it's a great song -- and a great video, which I've actually never seen before. Thanks for posting.
Stay strong, Mr. P... things'll get better.
Thanks Who Am Us and Alex. Some things are never meant to be. Things will indeed get better.
Elvis has gotten me through many a heartache too, god love 'im. That whole Get Happy! album is just loaded up with curdled love and bitterness. I saw him sing this song live at a jazz festival in Spain a few years ago, and it was just devastating.
I swear, Valentine's Day is responsible for more misery than happiness every year. It's that burden of expectation that you ought to be swimming in love and affection, when such thing is so rarely true. Who thought up this "holiday" anyway?
All best wishes to you, Mr. P -- I hope things turn around for you!
Elvis C has been the soundstrack to many a momentous occasion in my life. I hop all is well! Hugs to the west, good Sir.
